Bio
Born in north Yorkshire, Nigel went to school and grew up in the southeast of England.
Following graduation from the University of Hull with a joint Honours degree in Botany and Geography, he worked initially in the operating theatre of the Kent and Sussex Hospital in Tunbridge Wells, while he tried to figure out what to do with his life.
After a year he relocated to London to work for a company located just behind Westminster Abbey and later moved into international marketing and sales for a company in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.
He emigrated to Australia in 1990 after travelling the world with his job and deciding that Perth in Western Australia was the perfect city in which to live.
In Australia, Nigel worked for the not-for-profit sector and began writing a regular column for Have A Go News.
In 2006, he found himself working alone with time on his hands and no money in his pocket. This was when he met Chris Oakeley from the Katherine Susannah Pritchard’s Writer’s Group who encouraged him to ‘get on with it’ and live his dream of becoming a writer. Assume Murder was born later to be followed by Lazarus.
Nigel has a passion for natural history, geology, game fishing, and SCUBA diving and a keen interest in business and commerce from his MBA undertaken at the University of Western Australia.
In the Press
It’s a stonking piece of work… Nice one!
Lazarus is a rip-roaring tale, a modern-day Treasure Island with a little bit of spiced rum thrown in for good measure. I couldn't put it down.
Nigel is a great storyteller. His books are fast paced and easy to read, full of twists and turns, love lust and even buried treasure.
